April's Geek-Tech Roundup

These past few weeks have seen massive growth of interest in the now three-party race for the UK leadership – particularly among geek circles regarding ring-fencing of science and technology budgets, and the now infamous Digital Economy Bill. The Twitterati have been out in force, throwing out links to policies, articles, slip-ups and commentaries on the latest developments. Tapping very intuitively into the Twitter API, 10 Downing Tweets rounds this lot up nicely.

In development, some outstanding work based on the new HTML5 spec is being put out - the guys at Dextrose have put together a beta video game engine using JavaScript with it - see the results in this YouTube video. In OTB development developments, our new projects are getting built on ASP.NET MVC2 with an nHibernate ORM, plus ReSharper 5 is making our coding lives very easy with its seamless integration into Visual Studio 2008 (and I believe VS2010, which also was released in the past couple). It's nothing short of extremely sexy.

In design news, one of the 'best' resources for testing how your phenomenal, cutting-edge website design will look on Apple’s new toy, the iPad, can be found here - complete with realistically annoying glare and greasy fingerprint smudges. Beautiful. I believe there's also a new PhotoShop out which takes advantage of some new colours they invented.

And finally, the most harrowing story of the week: Dog Injures Nose. How will I sleep tonight? Find out next week.

The site looks original and modern but you are right that the fingerprints and the glare spoil the effect.

Regular cigarette smoking entails the use of tobacco which is harmful for the human body. Over the years, tobacco can accumulate within the lungs of the human body and prove fatal. All smokers are conscious of this fact but this doesn't stop them from smoking cigarettes. Electronic cigarette is the safest alternative for smokers. It does not involve the use of tobacco however allows people who smoke to experience the identical feeling which they get while smoking regular tobacco filled cigarettes.
